THE MENDIP RING WORK PARTY PHOTOGRAPHS
SECTION NINE
Part of this section near Panborough is within Sedgemoor District Council area and this is where we found a couple of completely blocked paths. We had four work party sessions to open these paths up with stiles and some plank bridges.
Our second session was on AUGUST 5th 2008. It was raining most of the time and we temporarily had to stop work while Bob negotiated with a local fellow . Although he didn't own the land that didn't stop him wanting to explain, colourfully, where he thought the path went and why we shouldn't be chopping through the hedge! All ended amicably and while Bob went out for a glass of cider (well that's what we suspect cos we didn't see him for some while after he went off with the chap) we put in a double stile and plank bridge over a deep ditch which Ken didn't fall in.
