| Inclement
weather for the weekend away on Dartmoor. Janet's routes were somewhat
fluid and involved a lot of "I think we'll try this way"
moments. Consequently I swear we climbed Dunkery Beacon several
times on the first day! On the second day we made sure Janet got
us back to Winsford in time to visit the tea garden there. |
|

Janet's walk, unlike Dunkery Beacon
at this point, was not straightforward -- so that's why she decided
to turn right downhill a little further on. |

Having lost all the height we'd gained
it was now obviously time to turn back uphill and resume the climb
to Dunkery |

Drizzling and very muddy underfoot |

My goodness I think we're finally
going for the summit |

Where next? |

We reckon it must be lunchtime |

With the rain now lashing down, a variety of headgear
is in evidence

Well that was day one. We got dried
out in time to enjoy a superb mesl at the pub in Wheddon Cross in
the evening, after which the campers reluctanly returned to Halse
Farm campsite.
The weather improved somewhat the
next day and by the time we got to Tarr Steps anoraks had been put
away. |

The weather is finally improving |
