A
local group of the Ramblers' Association, which exists to facilitate the
enjoyment and discovery on foot of Britain's countryside.
Mendip
Ramblers' Group has a long established WORK PARTY which installs
stiles, kissing gates and small bridges. Each year we concentrate
on a particular area and every August
Bank Holiday we celebrate our work with a walking festival.
The 2007/8 area is WOOKEY.
Recently
we have established another work party which concentrates on less
physically demanding (but no less vital!) clearing and waymarking
work. Secauteurs, lopers, and hooks are the main equipment used.
This work party goes out most Tuesdays from about 10 am to 2 or
3 pm.
If you would like to join this CLEARANCE
WORK PARTY please ring PAULA on 01458-860751 or JEAN
