SWANAGE weekend --- October 2009
The autumn self-booking weekend this year was in the Swanage area. Rick had organised 5 days of walking with a choice between long and short walks every day. This was a return to the area we visited on the second self-booking holiday way back in 2003. However all the walks were different and only a few of the current participants had been on the 2003 trip.

Friday's walk was "on the way" at Child Okeford where Rick and Lisa had laid on tea and cakes both pre and post walk! On the walks we visited Derek Baker's grave within the green burial ground before heading up and around both Hambledon Hill and Hod Hill. Saturday's walks started from Corfe castle and took in Swyre Head. The MOD land was open on Sunday so we were able to visit Tyneham and enjoy the hilly section of coastal path to it from Lulworth Cove. Swanage itself was the starting point for Monday's walks along parts of the coastal path around Durlston Head (where we had a excellent evening meal on Saturday night at the Lookout Cafe). The final day's walks were from Studland in fairly dreary weather.

Here we are at Child Okeford about to walk off all the tea, cake and biscuits Rick and Lisa had provided
